How it began:

I kept missing gay pride.

I hadn't been able to find out about the event. I hadn't heard about the event. None of my friends had or they had the wrong date. Or didn't know where it was. No one knew about the prides outside of the area either. I might see a flyer or an article in passing a few months before and then be unable to track then down later when I was trying to make plans. A lot of times I'd find out about something to late to be able to make it. Even when I knew when I had to dig to find out where it was being held. A lot of the people I knew wouldn't make it because they hadn't known at time, if at all.

I realized I'd missed a lot of events because of lack of fore knowledge. As a matter of fact, a lot of people I knew complained about the lack of things to do, but only because they didn't know what was already out there. There was plenty to choose from, but no one knew it. No one knew about the bowling leagues, or softball. No one knew about the Leather, or Bear Community, or the events that these clubs held open to the public. Our gay community was far larger than anyone realized. We just lacked communication.

So here's what happens when a Gay Programming Geek finds a cause. He goes into hiding and comes back a few months later with an event calendar.

This site is to help those in an area find something to do: sports, social events, support group meetings, festivals and other events of interest in their area. Visitors can look up events and organizations by interest (entertainment, support, clubs, sports, etc), orientation (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Trans-gender).
